Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey has canceled its entire Cleveland run, scrapping performances that were scheduled for this weekend, October 8 through 11, at the Wolstein Center. The circus giant pulled the plug on all four days, citing operational challenges.
Organizers cited “unforeseen operational challenges” for the cancellation, according to WYTV, though no further detail was offered about what went wrong behind the curtain. The show had been booked for a four-day stand at the arena, part of a 2026 national tour, and FOX 8 News also reported the cancellation.
Despite the Cleveland cancellation, Ringling Bros. is continuing its tour in other cities across the country, the same report notes. The company's 2026 schedule, as outlined by CultureMap San Antonio, kicked off April 9 in Worcester, Massachusetts, with stops planned in every month through the end of the year.
How Refunds Will Work
Anyone who bought tickets directly through Ticketmaster or the Wolstein Center box office does not need to take any action. Those purchases will be automatically refunded, with money returned to the original credit card within 30 business days, per the same account.
Buyers who went through other sellers are not covered by that automatic process and should contact the original point of purchase to request a refund. Ticket holders with lingering questions can also reach out to Feld Entertainment customer service directly for assistance.
A Circus Already Reinvented
The version of the show that was headed to Cleveland wasn't the circus many longtime fans remember. The reimagined Ringling Bros. production no longer features live animals and has been rebuilt as a two-hour live talent show, per CultureMap San Antonio's coverage of the tour. Ahead of its planned Cleveland stop, Cleveland.com described the retooled show as a fast-paced, two-hour entertainment experience built around immersive moments and nonstop action.
For now, Cleveland circus fans are left with refunds instead of a weekend under the big top, while the Greatest Show On Earth rolls on toward its next stop elsewhere on the calendar.
