Quarry Park Adventures in Rocklin is dimming the lights and dressing up its ropes course for Halloween, opening its Fright Climb night events to guests willing to scale a zip line, via ferrata and rappelling wall in costume after dark. The Placer County adventure park is running the themed nights as part of its broader lineup of after-dark climbs that continue into the colder months.
According to quarrypark.com, a Night Climb ticket covers three hours on-site: a half-hour of gear-up and orientation followed by two and a half hours of climbing, zipping and rappelling, with access to all six of the park's Quarry Adventures during that adventure time. Tickets run $69 per person, the site notes. Those six activities are the Aerial Adventure, Rock Climbing, Free Fall, Rappel, Via Ferrata and Zip Line, per the same listing.
Quarry Park's official night-climb page lists Fright Climb Halloween dates as Oct. 23 and Oct. 30, 2026. The Halloween-themed nights are being promoted as part of the park's seasonal after-dark programming, as described by the Sacramento Bee, which reports the park opens night climbs after dark with themed events spanning October and December.
What to Wear (and What to Skip) for Fright Climb
Costumes and festive outfits are welcome for Fright Climb nights, but only if they can work underneath a full-body harness and helmet, the park's site states. Long dresses, capes, oversized wigs and bulky accessories are discouraged, since they can snag gear or interfere with safety equipment on the course. The same safety math applies to body size: all participants must weigh between 45 and 250 pounds, a requirement the park repeats on both its ticketing and night-climb pages.
Guests under 12 on Aerial Adventure and Via Ferrata need a supervising companion who is at least 14 years old, according to the park's ticketing page. Groups of 15 or more can book a visit on any day of the week by appointment, and the park says those groups save between 20 and 25 percent when they book online. The park also notes that its online prices already include all required taxes and fees.
How Fright Climb Stacks Up Against Other Tickets
The $69 Night Climb ticket sits in the middle of Quarry Park's adventure-pass lineup. The Granite Adventure ticket offers two hours with a choice from all six activities, while the Gold Adventure ticket provides four hours of unlimited access to the same six attractions, according to the park's ticketing page. The three-hour Night Climb format splits the difference, giving guests extended after-dark access without the full-day commitment of the Gold tier.
Quarry Park's seasonal calendar doesn't stop at Halloween. The Sacramento Bee's report notes the park also plans Cozy Climb events in December, featuring holiday lights, music and a hot cocoa and candy cane bar, as part of the same after-dark programming that includes the Fright Climb nights. The park is generally open Friday through Sunday in the colder months, though its weekly operating schedule varies throughout the season, per the Bee's reporting.
