LACMA has named global pop star Rosé as the musical guest for its 15th annual Art+Film Gala, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7. The fundraiser will honor Latvian American artist Vija Celmins and Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve. Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio are returning as co-chairs.

LACMA announced the honorees and co-chairs in a press release. Celmins’ work includes detailed depictions of natural subjects; Villeneuve directed Arrival, Dune and Dune: Part Two, each of which received Academy Award nominations. The Los Angeles Times has described the gala as a meeting point for the city’s art and film communities.

Rosé, born Roseanne Park, will perform at the event, Variety reports. In a statement cited by Variety, co-chair Eva Chow said, “Rosé will amplify the spirit of the evening with her incomparable talent and style.”

A K-Pop Powerhouse Joins LACMA's Stage

Rosé first gained prominence as a member of Blackpink, which debuted in 2016 and is now considered one of the bestselling girl groups of all time. Her solo release R followed in 2021, selling 448,089 copies in its first week—a record for a Korean female soloist. Her 2024 album rosie reached a new high for a Korean female soloist on the U.S. album chart and has since generated more than 10 billion solo streams, Variety reports.

Her collaboration with Bruno Mars, APT., was the bestselling global single of 2025 and the first song by a female K-pop artist to enter the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10. The track also received three Grammy nominations, according to Variety.

Gucci Returns As Longtime Presenting Sponsor

Gucci will once again serve as the gala's presenting sponsor, a role the fashion house has held since the event's inception in 2011, according to LACMA. The brand also backed the 2025 edition, when newly installed creative director Demna made his first appearance at the event, as The Hollywood Reporter detailed.

LACMA says gala proceeds support its film-related curatorial work, including exhibitions, acquisitions and educational programming, as well as the museum’s broader mission.

LACMA’s Film Work Beyond the Gala

The fundraiser is one part of LACMA’s film activity: the museum says its programming includes screenings of new and classic films, conversations about filmmaking, and exhibitions on filmmaking’s history and contemporary practice. As one example, LACMA listed Christian Marclay’s The Clock at BCAM from July 26 to Aug. 23, 2026, according to its film program and exhibition listing. That programming support is distinct from the Building LACMA capital campaign. The museum announced that the campaign exceeded its $750 million goal in August 2023 to fund construction of the David Geffen Galleries; LACMA says the galleries’ funding is split between 80% private donations and 20% from Los Angeles County, according to its campaign announcement.

Last Year Set a Fundraising High Bar

At the 2025 gala, LACMA honored filmmaker Ryan Coogler and artist Mary Corse, and Doja Cat performed. Variety reported that nearly 600 people attended. The Los Angeles Times reported that DiCaprio and Chow co-chaired the dinner and cocktail party, and that the evening ended with a Doja Cat performance.

Variety described the 2025 gala as having raised a record-breaking $6.5 million, while LACMA's own announcement characterized the total as nearly $6.5 million and called it a new record for the event. Past gala performers have included Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz, Annie Lennox, Beck, Stevie Wonder, Florence and the Machine, Anderson .Paak and Sting, underscoring the gala's track record of pairing marquee musical talent with its art-world honorees.
