Roseville has a new destination for wine, spirits and beer shopping. Total Wine & More opened its doors Thursday at 31900 Gratiot Ave. near Masonic Boulevard, marking the retailer's fourth metro Detroit location and bringing with it a sprawling, more than 20,000-square-foot showroom stocked with thousands of bottles.
The Roseville store sits in the Gratiot business district anchored by Macomb Mall, according to Macomb Daily. Inside, shoppers will find more than 8,000 wines, 4,500 distilled spirits and 2,500 beers, along with a lineup of non-alcoholic beverages, all according to company officials cited by the outlet. The opening also created 30 jobs, officials said.
Beyond the shelves, the store includes a walk-in humidor stocked with more than 50 premium cigar brands, wine and spirits tasting stations, and what the company calls its brewery district beer tasting station and cold case. There's also a classroom set up for customer classes and events featuring winemakers, distillers and brewers from around the world, per the same report. Shoppers will also find local-to-Michigan brands on the shelves, including Iron Fish Distillery, Short's Brewing Co., Detroit City Distillery and Traverse City Whiskey Co.
Hours, Delivery and What You Can Buy
According to Total Wine & More's store page, the Roseville location is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wine, spirits, beer, cigars and accessories are all available for purchase, with delivery and store pickup options for most items — though cigars cannot be delivered or shipped, the company notes.
The new store joins three other metro Detroit locations, on Lakeside Circle in Sterling Heights, Rochester Road in Rochester Hills and Haggerty Road in Novi, giving the chain seven Michigan locations total. Nationally, the company describes itself as operating 303 locations across 30 states and employing over 11,000 people. Total Wine & More has described its mission as connecting people through joyful experiences by delivering value and knowledge to every customer, and the company has said its buying power and relationships with producers, importers and wholesalers generate savings passed on to customers.
More Michigan Stores on the Way
The Roseville opening is part of a broader push into Michigan. Total Wine & More is opening two more stores in the state this fall, according to Crain's Detroit Business. The chain's Michigan footprint began with stores in Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor before expanding to Novi and Sterling Heights, per the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association.
Looking further out, Total Wine & More is also planned for the Orchard Lake Shopping Center at 31077 Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills, according to What Now Detroit. That location will sit at the north end of the shopping center, sharing a building with The White Barn Candle Co., though no exact opening date has been set beyond a projected 2027 arrival. The outlet describes Total Wine & More as having nearly 300 stores nationwide.
A Major Player in Michigan's Liquor Market
The expansion comes even as statewide liquor sales have softened. Michigan bars and stores purchased $1.77 billion worth of liquor wholesale through the state in 2025, a 7% drop from the year before, according to MLive. Despite that decline, Total Wine & More still purchased about $40.4 million worth of liquor from the state in 2025 across its five Michigan stores at the time, and those five locations ranked as the top five liquor-purchasing retailers statewide, the outlet reported.
The chain's growth isn't limited to Michigan. In Florence, Kentucky, Total Wine & More opened a fifth Kentucky store in September that tops 15,000 square feet and is expected to create 25 jobs, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer. That store carries a similar lineup of more than 8,000 wines, 4,500 spirits and 2,500 beers, along with tasting stations and a walk-in humidor with more than 50 premium cigar brands — a near-mirror of what Roseville shoppers now have close to home.
Back on Gratiot Avenue, the area around the new store is also set for change. Sites formerly occupied by the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham and the Gratiot Huddle Sports Bar & Grill, located south of Total Wine across the street, are slated to be replaced by three commercial buildings housing two drive-thru restaurants and an El Car Wash.
