Sacramento’s coffee lovers have a new reason to caffeinate their way across the city this fall. A coffee-shop crawl featuring nearly a dozen local spots is set to run from October 15 through November 15, inviting participants to sip their way through downtown, Midtown, Curtis Park and beyond.

The promotion comes from a company that has now run the Sacramento event twice, according to The Sacramento Bee. This fall edition follows an earlier summer crawl that quickly filled all of its slots, and the same company operates similar events in cities around the country. Typically, the company sells digital crawl passes for $20, giving holders a $5 credit at each participating coffee shop during the event.

Past Sacramento passes have let crawl-goers tap at each register to receive $5 off their coffee orders, letting participants explore shops at their own pace rather than follow a fixed schedule. Tickets to Coffee Crawl events are typically limited so shops can deliver a great experience, the company has written, and organizers have urged participants to check each cafe’s business hours before visiting. As of this report, passes for the fall Sacramento crawl are not yet up for sale.

A Lineup Spanning Downtown to South Land Park

The fall roster brings together cafes from several corners of the city. Downtown is represented by Anchor & Tree Coffee Roasting Co. at 1412 16th St., alongside Barrio Downtown at 1230 N St. and Burnside Coffee Bar at 902 K St. Midtown's Balance Coffee Shop, located at 1004 24th St., also joins the lineup.

Neighborhood spots fill out the rest of the list. Bueno Cafe sits at 400 T St. in Southside Park, not far from Casa Flores Cafe at 1033 S St., Suite 110, also in Southside Park. Qisa Coffee is located at 2348 Castro Way in Curtis Park, while Shift Coffee House holds down Old North Sacramento at 1616 Del Paso Blvd.

Rounding Out the Fall Crawl

Further out, Brew Bird in Land Park sits at 3193 Riverside Blvd., Tiferet by the Park serves East Sacramento from 3020 H St., and Venus Taproom, Roastery & Pizza anchors South Land Park at 1188 35th Ave. Together, the spots give participants a reason to cross multiple neighborhoods during the monthlong window.

The crawl format itself isn't unique to Sacramento. Comparable events have cropped up elsewhere this year, including a Colorado Springs crawl that ran September 15 through October 15 and featured 15 local spots, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. That event likewise paired a digital map with a $5 credit at each stop, though it also required participants to complete a survey at every shop they visited, with one snooze allowed. Those Colorado Springs tickets also sold out.

Albuquerque ran its own version too, with more than a dozen shops participating and a pass offering the same $5-per-stop credit, as KRQE reported. Denver's fall edition, meanwhile, listed 15 independent shops over a one-month run with the same $5-credit structure, per the event's own Coffee Crawls listing.

For now, Sacramento residents eager to join this fall's crawl will need to keep an eye out for pass sales, since none are currently available. Given how fast the summer slots disappeared, those hoping to snag a spot may want to act quickly once tickets do go live.
