Los Inmortales Taquería has opened its fifth restaurant in the Sacramento area, expanding into south Natomas with a menu built around tacos and the chain's famously oversized burritos. The new shop marks the taquería's first foothold in the Natomas neighborhood, joining four existing locations scattered across the region.

According to the Sacramento Bee, the restaurant opened its first Natomas location at 3551 Truxel Road in late summer 2026, and the Natomas Marketplace spot is the chain's fifth overall. The taquería is best known for its tacos and super-sized burritos, and its menu also stretches into carne asada, enchiladas, quesadillas, tortas and breakfast burritos. Regular tacos run $3.25 each, while super burritos cost $14.50 and jumbo burritos go for $15.45, per the same report.

A Former Rubio's Space Gets New Life

The Natomas restaurant took over a location previously occupied by Rubio's Coastal Grill, the Bee reports. That chain, which opened in San Diego in 1983, closed its Sacramento-area location in 2024 according to its Yelp page, part of a broader retreat that saw it shut down 11 Northern California stores. The Sacramento Business Journal reported that Rubio's closed its five remaining Sacramento-area restaurants as of June 2024, according to the chain's website.

Los Inmortales isn't the only newcomer filling the Truxel Road corridor's turnover. The Sacramento Business Journal also reported that El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant opened at 3521 Truxel Road in Natomas in October 2025, putting two Mexican restaurants within close reach of each other in the same stretch of south Natomas.

Building Out a Regional Footprint

Beyond the new Natomas shop, Los Inmortales operates restaurants at 3131 Fruitridge Road in North City Farms, 6670 Valley Hi Drive in the Valley Hi/North Laguna area, 2598 Alta Arden Expressway in Arden Arcade, and 501 Broadway in Land Park. The Land Park location opened as the chain's fourth Sacramento-area restaurant on September 25, 2023, the Bee has previously reported.

Earlier coverage from What Now Sacramento had flagged the Natomas expansion while it was still in progress, noting the chain was working on a new location at 3551 Truxel Road before it opened. Los Inmortales Taquería is listed as open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, though the restaurant's own online ordering page cautions that hours may vary by location, so diners heading to the new Natomas shop may want to confirm its schedule directly.

The taquería has described itself as the new go-to Mexican spot in Sacramento, offering a full menu of Mexican food across its five locations. For south Natomas residents who watched the old Rubio's sit vacant after its 2024 closure, the arrival gives the neighborhood another option for tacos and the oversized burritos that have become the chain's calling card.
