Salem Speedway is throwing open its gates for free this Friday with a Trunk or Treat event at 7 p.m., kicking off a weekend that also includes racing on both Saturday and Sunday. The Indiana track's pits open at noon on October 16, giving families plenty of time to settle in before the trick-or-treating begins.
According to the track's own 2026 events schedule, Friday's free general admission and Trunk or Treat gathering is just the opening act. Racing resumes Saturday, October 17, with gates opening at 12:30 p.m. and cars hitting the track at 5 p.m., featuring Crown Vic, Short Track, Future Stars and Figure 8 competitions. The action continues Sunday, October 18, with gates opening at 11 a.m. and racing starting at 1 p.m., again featuring the same lineup of Crown Vic, Short Track, Future Stars and Figure 8 events.
As WHAS11 reported, Salem Speedway is celebrating Halloween from October 16 through 18 with a Trunk or Treat and two big races, giving race fans and trick-or-treaters alike a reason to head to the track this weekend.
The 2025 Halloween 200 Weekend
Salem Speedway also held a Halloween 200 Weekend in 2025.
That 2025 weekend built toward the annual Spooky 200 on Saturday and the 37th annual Halloween 200 on Sunday evening, per the same report.
What to Expect This Time Around
Salem Speedway's own schedule notes that details are subject to change and that additional racing series or special events may still be added before the weekend arrives. For now, the track has confirmed the free admission night, the Trunk or Treat gathering, and two full days of Crown Vic, Short Track, Future Stars and Figure 8 racing to close out the weekend.
