San Antonio is waking up to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures near 68 degrees, with rain showers expected through much of Friday. The high should reach about 70, but the day looks gray, damp and decidedly un-Halloween-like before conditions improve.
Friday Night Rain Chances
Friday carries an 80% chance of rain, with up to another 0.5 to 1.0 inches of rain possible on average in the I-35 corridor and Coastal Plains. East winds around 10 mph will add to the chilly, wet feel, while San Antonio International Airport has a 50% chance of precipitation Friday night. Rain should end around midnight, with a low near 65.
The National Weather Service says a Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 p.m. Friday for Val Verde, Edwards, Kinney, Maverick, Real and Uvalde counties. The watch does not include Bexar County, but anyone driving west or southwest of San Antonio should stay alert for water-covered roads and rapidly changing conditions.
Halloween Forecast Improves Saturday Evening
Saturday starts with a 20% chance of showers before 10 a.m., then turns partly sunny with a high near 81. Rain chances should fade late Saturday afternoon and evening, setting up a much drier window for Halloween festivities, although skies will remain mostly cloudy and temperatures will fall only to around 68 overnight.
Warm Sunday And Monday Before Tuesday Storms
Sunday looks partly sunny and dry with a high near 83, followed by an even warmer Monday near 85. The outlook then turns more unsettled Monday night and Tuesday, when showers and thunderstorms may develop ahead of a front.
Tuesday should reach about 80 with a 30% chance of showers and storms, followed by a drier air mass with cooler mornings and mild afternoons in mid to late next week.
