A man found dead on San Antonio's South Side more than four months ago still has no name, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office is now asking the public for help identifying him. He was found at 8534 Mission Parkway on June 1, described as a Black/Hispanic male approximately 27 to 37 years old and standing about 5 feet 4 inches tall. His case has sat open since that day, logged under case number ME #2026-1256.
The office made the public appeal earlier this month, according to WOAI / News 4 San Antonio, which first reported the case and the man's description. Anyone who recognizes him or has information is asked to call the investigative section of the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office at (210) 335-4011.
The medical examiner's office says it relies on every scientific tool available to put a name to cases like this one, including fingerprints, DNA, dental or medical records, and visual identification, according to Bexar County. Case details are also entered into the National Missing Unidentified Persons System, known as NamUs, a searchable database built specifically to help match unidentified remains with missing people. The county notes that its investigators are reachable by phone around the clock, every day of the year, for anyone who might have a lead.
A Pattern of Unnamed Men on San Antonio's South Side
This is not the first time this year that Bexar County has turned to the public for help putting a name to a man found in the area. Just a few months earlier, the medical examiner's office asked for tips on a separate set of human remains found on the South Side, the same county notes the current case was publicized through, per the earlier report from the same station the office works with. That case, reported in April by KSAT 12, involved remains found on June 16, 2025, in the 1800 block of Neal Road, north of South Loop 1604 — a man estimated at about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 57 to 70 years old, discovered after a 911 caller found them on their own property, the station reported.
A third case, also unresolved, surfaced last year when a man was found on May 22, 2025, in the 4900 block of Callaghan Road. According to WOAI, that man was described as white, estimated to be 36 to 48 years old, and about 5 feet 9 inches tall — and despite investigators' efforts, his identity has never been confirmed. There is no indication that these cases are connected to the man found on Mission Parkway; each carries its own case file, description, and timeline.
How the Public Can Help
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office maintains a public list of unidentified persons cases on its website, where it explains its identification process and posts details meant to jog a family member's or acquaintance's memory. For the Mission Parkway case, that means the description of a Black/Hispanic man in his late 20s to late 30s, just over 5 feet tall, whose case has remained open since he was found in early June.
Anyone with information is urged to call the number above. For a man who has spent months without a name, even a small detail could be the one that finally connects him to a family still waiting for answers.
