A 90-foot Ferris wheel at Santa Monica Pier is set to glow Dodgers blue and white as Pacific Park marks the team's NLCS run with a Game 3 display. The park says the show will include the team's LA insignia.
Pacific Park's announcement describes a blue-and-white arrangement of colors, patterns and transitions, with the club's iconic LA insignia, as reported by KTLA.
Los Angeles trails the Milwaukee Brewers 0-2 in the NLCS after losing Game 2 on the road Monday, 7-4. The Brewers opened a three-run lead in the eighth inning, per the Associated Press. Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m.; another loss would leave the Dodgers facing elimination.
Past Displays Mark Other Occasions
Pacific Park has also used the wheel for community tributes. The park said the Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel would glow purple and gold for Kobe Bryant Day on August 24, 2024, in a separate tribute.
Other Dodgers-Themed Landmark Displays
In a separate announcement, Pacific Park said the Pacific Wheel would have a Dodgers blue-and-white display for Games 3, 4 and 5 of the 2025 World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, scheduled for October 27–29 at Dodger Stadium, according to Pacific Park.
The Santa Monica Pier was not the only Los Angeles landmark lit for the team: NBC Los Angeles reported that the D in the Hollywood sign glowed blue after the Dodgers clinched the 2024 World Series in Game 5.
That tribute was distinct from the Dodgers display planned for the NLCS.
For this display, Pacific Park set the lighting window from sunset, around 6:20 p.m., until midnight, according to the announcement reported by KTLA.
Why This Series Carries Extra Weight
The immediate objective for Los Angeles is to respond after two losses. A Game 3 win would give the Dodgers a chance to continue their comeback attempt; a defeat would deepen the challenge.
The wheel is scheduled to remain blue and white through the evening, while the Dodgers try to answer on the field.
