Second Gloucester County School Bus Incident in a Month
This is the second school bus crash to hit Gloucester County in just over a month. On September 3, a crash in Monroe Township sent 14 people to the hospital, including 12 children, after a dump truck struck a passenger vehicle that was stopped behind another school bus, according to nj.com.
That collision set off a five-vehicle chain reaction, the outlet reported. Nine of the 12 children sent to the hospital in that incident had been riding the bus, and officials said all patients were released or remained in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, per the same account.
The Monroe Township report also referenced a separate Washington Township school bus crash in which four students were evaluated at a hospital as a precaution, while the other vehicle's driver was treated for minor injuries, the article noted.
No further details on the Clayton crash — including its cause or the condition of anyone in the other vehicle — had been released as of Saturday, News 12 New Jersey reported.
