ServiceMaster Restoration Alliance of Tacoma has acquired ServiceMaster Total Cleaning Service of Redmond, Washington, giving the Tacoma-based restoration company a permanent foothold on Seattle's Eastside. The acquired operation will now do business as ServiceMaster Restore of Kirkland, and company leaders say it marks a deliberate push deeper into King County and beyond.
The deal was announced Tuesday, according to prnewswire.com, which described ServiceMaster Restoration Alliance of Tacoma as an Elite ServiceMaster franchise already serving six counties across Western Washington. The newly rebranded Kirkland location is meant to give the company, as citybiz reported, an established base for supporting customers and emergency response in surrounding Eastside communities.
The move expands the company's presence in King County and establishes what cleanfax.com described as a permanent Eastside base, widening its ability to serve residential and commercial customers throughout the area. Beyond King County, the location also establishes a forward position for service into Snohomish County and the north end of the Puget Sound corridor, the outlet reported.
What the Kirkland Operation Will Offer
ServiceMaster Restore of Kirkland will offer the company's full range of residential and commercial restoration services, including water damage restoration, fire and smoke damage restoration, mold remediation, specialty cleaning, and disaster recovery. The business describes itself on its own site as locally owned and operated while backed by a nationally recognized franchise network with more than 65 years of experience.
That national network is substantial: ServiceMaster Restore has grown to more than 800 franchised locations across 14 countries over its 65-plus-year history, according to cleanlink.com. ServiceMaster Restoration Alliance of Tacoma holds the ServiceMaster Recovery Management designation for large-loss and commercial disaster response, and it maintains crews certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification who provide around-the-clock emergency response.
Leadership Frames the Deal as Regional Growth
Jeff Sorenson, CEO of ServiceMaster Restoration Alliance of Tacoma, said the acquisition marks an important step in regional expansion. “This is a significant step in how we grow,” Sorenson said, adding that the expansion creates new career opportunities as the company builds out its footprint.
Jeff Hagerman, the company's head of business development, said the additional location will improve the company's response to urgent service requests. “Bringing the Redmond operation into the Restoration Alliance family strengthens our ability to serve customers when they need us most,” Hagerman said. ServiceMaster of Tacoma now plans to position restoration crews and equipment on both sides of Puget Sound.
ServiceMaster Total Cleaning Service has served residential and commercial property owners in the Redmond area for many years, giving the newly acquired operation an established customer base to build on. The company says demand for professional restoration services continues to grow across Western Washington, a trend cited by cleanfax.com as part of the rationale behind the deal.
Hiring and What Comes Next
ServiceMaster Restoration Alliance of Tacoma says it is seeking additional employees as it expands its operations and services across the region. The company has previously said it aims to grow through strategic acquisitions and organic expansion, a strategy cleanlink.com has tied to broader investment in the ServiceMaster Restore franchise network.
Leaders say the acquired operation will give the company a larger pool of IICRC-certified technicians, additional equipment and resources, and faster response on emergency losses. ServiceMaster Restoration Alliance of Tacoma, which was recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of fast-growing businesses in the United States, did not disclose financial terms of the transaction.
