A man was hospitalized after a shooting outside a home on San Antonio’s South Side Sunday morning. Police were called around 9:30 a.m. to the 100 block of Gladstone Street, where officers found the man with a gunshot wound, KSAT reported, citing police.
Police said an altercation took place outside the home before shots were fired. Witnesses told officers two men ran from the scene after two shots, and police were searching for them, according to KSAT. The victim’s condition was not known in the outlet’s latest report; police had not publicly identified the suspects.
What local crime data can—and cannot—show
The shooting is one incident, not enough on its own to establish a trend on Gladstone Street or across the South Side. UTSA Public Safety says its Community Crime Map lets people search SAPD-reported crime statistics by address or neighborhood; those records could offer a way to examine reported incidents, but they do not by themselves establish whether this block is unusually affected or verify broader claims about gunfire.
A broader violence-prevention effort
San Antonio Report describes Stand Up SA as a city violence-interruption program whose outreach workers mediate conflicts, mentor people at high risk of gun violence and connect them with services. The report does not link the program to Sunday’s shooting or to Gladstone Street, so its existence provides citywide context—not evidence of a response to this incident.
