Seattle is starting Halloween in the fog, with temperatures near 38 degrees and visibility sharply reduced around Boeing Field before clouds gradually clear through the afternoon as temperatures warm into the low-to-mid 50s. The dry break arrives just in time for trick-or-treating, but anyone heading out early should expect a chilly, murky start.
Fog Lifts Before The Halloween Rush
The fog should thin by late morning as skies brighten, with the high reaching the lower to mid-50s. The National Weather Service forecast describes clouds moving through Saturday with a gradual clearing trend, and a sunny afternoon on Sunday. At Seattle-Tacoma Airport, northerly winds will become east or southeast through the day. The bigger early-day issue is visibility, not rain: precipitation chances remain near zero.
Chilly Night, More Fog Sunday Morning
Patchy fog is possible in fog-prone areas early Sunday, followed by sunny skies in the afternoon and a high near 53. Rain is not expected, making for a quiet day after the costumes come off.
Dry Stretch Holds Into Tuesday
The mild, mostly dry pattern continues Monday and Tuesday, with highs near 54 and 56 degrees, respectively. That extends the brighter Halloween setup described in Hoodline’s earlier Halloween forecast, though clouds will be more common early next week. Overnight lows will be in the 30s and lower 40s.
Rain Chances Return Midweek
The next chance of rain arrives Thursday, when a splitting front reaches Western Washington. Rain is also possible Friday. Highs should remain in the mid-to-upper 50s, so the return of rain looks more like a wet-weather nuisance than a dramatic temperature plunge.
Frost Possible Outside Seattle
People traveling north or south of the city should also keep an eye on colder conditions away from downtown. A frost advisory covers several areas north and east of Seattle through 9 a.m. Saturday, while a freeze warning remains posted farther south in the Chehalis River Valley and parts of Lewis and Thurston counties. For Seattle proper, the practical forecast is simple: fog early, sun later, and a jacket-worthy Halloween night.
