Liv's Drink Emporium, the Sun Prairie soda shop known for dairy-free peanut butter cold brew and custom dirty sodas, is expanding into Madison with a new location planned on Cottage Grove Road. Angie and Brad Stroud hope to open by mid- to late January, depending on the city's permitting process.
The expansion marks the first satellite location for a business that opened in Sun Prairie in December 2020 and has since built a loyal following, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The flagship store sits at 3140 Edmonton Drive, Suite 100, according to Liv's Drink Emporium.
A Signature Cold Brew
Liv's signature item is the Peanut Butter Cold Brew. The shop goes through about 17 gallon jugs of the mix daily, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
Liv's has branded itself as Wisconsin's only dedicated soda shop, blending sodas or sparkling water with custom syrups, creams, and purees like coconut and Tiger's Blood, according to The Capital Times. The scratch bakery adds to the draw, with Cruffins — a croissant-muffin hybrid — and B-Rad's Pretzels, per Visit Sun Prairie.
The Sun Prairie Menu
The Sun Prairie shop's lineup includes six grilled cheese sandwiches, four types of pretzels, and baked goods, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
The Stroud Family
The new location lands squarely within an East Side corridor that Madison city planners have targeted for ongoing commercial revitalization, according to Madison Commons.
The Strouds have five children, and Liv's Drink Emporium is named for their youngest daughter, Liv.
Local Sourcing
Liv's has also built a reputation for sustainability and local sourcing, using 100 percent recycled cups and paper straws while drawing on local Sun Prairie farmers, per the business's own site.
