Baltimore is starting Tuesday with cool, clear conditions before sunshine arrives. The NWS forecast-area discussion places highs through Thursday in the 50s and 60s. North winds around 10 mph may gust to 20 mph, but rain is not part of the plan as a long stretch of dry fall weather settles over the city.
The National Weather Service expects the strongest breeze during the afternoon, making the day feel brisker near open areas and along the waterfront. Tonight will stay mostly clear, with temperatures falling to around 49 degrees.
Clear Skies, Colder Nights
Wednesday brings another sunny day with a high near 67, followed by a low around 47 Wednesday night. Thursday should remain sunny and mild by late-October standards, reaching about 68 degrees before another clear night near 46.
The cooler stretch arrives Friday, when Baltimore may top out near 62 degrees. Even so, the forecast remains dry, with no meaningful rain chances expected through the weekend.
Chesapeake Winds Could Raise Water Levels
While Baltimore's streets should stay dry, an offshore nor'easter is expected to keep winds gusty along and east of Interstate 95. Tidal locations around the Chesapeake could see minor flooding at times through Friday, and Annapolis may approach moderate flood stage during some high-tide cycles.
Small Craft Advisories are in effect on area waters through early Wednesday, with additional advisories possible into Friday as northerly winds continue. Anyone boating or spending time near exposed waterfront areas should check conditions before heading out.
Sunny Weekend Leads To A Warmer Monday
Saturday is expected to be sunny; highs of 62 to 67 degrees are forecast across Wednesday through Sunday. Sunday rebounds to about 67 under sunny skies, while Monday could reach 72 with mostly sunny conditions.
The updated outlook adds a clearer picture of the coastal-water concerns to Monday's Baltimore forecast. For city residents, the takeaway is simple: jackets in the morning, sunglasses by afternoon and very little need for an umbrella through the weekend.
