Milwaukee is waking up Friday with high clouds streaming in from the west, expected to gradually clear eastward during the morning, and temperatures around 52 degrees. Sunshine should carry the city toward a high near 60. The day will be dry and pleasant overall, though a breezy start will make the morning feel more like fall than late summer.
Sunshine Wins Out After A Breezy Start
The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan forecasts sunny skies Friday after high clouds clear eastward during the morning, with breezy north to northwest winds. Rain is not expected, making the afternoon a solid bet for errands, outdoor work or a walk along the lake.
Temperatures should peak near 60 degrees during the afternoon before slipping quickly after sunset. Anyone heading out early or staying late may want an extra layer, especially with the north wind adding a noticeable chill.
Clear Nights Could Bring Patchy Frost
Friday night will be mostly clear, with temperatures falling to around 44 degrees and winds becoming light and variable. The weather service says patchy frost could develop in colder or low-lying areas, so sensitive plants may need to be covered or brought indoors.
Lake Michigan conditions will be rougher than the city forecast, with a Small Craft Advisory in effect for some nearshore waters from Wind Point southward through 1 p.m. Friday. Boaters should check conditions before heading out, even as the shoreline itself enjoys a quiet, sunny day.
Sunny Weekend Leads Into A Mostly Dry Week
Saturday's cloud cover increases by afternoon, with a high near 60, followed by a partly cloudy night and lows in the mid to upper 40s. Sunday should be warmer and sunny with highs in the upper 60s, followed by clear skies Sunday night and lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Monday remains mostly clear with highs in the 60s, while Tuesday reaches the upper 60s. Wednesday and Thursday turn milder, with highs in the 70s Wednesday and around 70 Thursday, and only small rain chances in the forecast.
