Skies are expected to be clear Tuesday, though a few clouds might approach the coastline, with temperatures in the 50s near the coast before a sunny but blustery day. Highs should reach about 69 degrees, while northerly gusts could reach 20 to 25 mph inland and 25 to 35 mph along the coast.
Coastal Flooding Remains The Main Concern
Coastal Flood Advisories are in effect for Hampton Roads. The National Weather Service expects up to a foot of water in especially vulnerable areas near shorelines and tidal waterways, including some low-lying roads, parking lots, parks and lawns.
The first notable high-tide cycle is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening, with additional rounds possible through Thursday as persistent northerly winds push water toward the coast. Drivers should allow extra time, avoid barricades and never drive through water of unknown depth.
Clear, Dry Weather Sticks Around
Tuesday night will stay clear, with temperatures dipping to around 55 degrees. Wednesday brings more sunshine and a high near 66, followed by another sunny day Thursday near 68 degrees as winds gradually ease.
The dry stretch continues into the weekend, though temperatures will turn a little cooler with highs near 64 Friday and 63 Saturday. Sunday should be dry, and Monday could reach about 66 degrees under sunny skies, with no rain currently expected through the period.
