New Yorkers are waking up to clear skies and a chilly start Sunday, but the city is headed for a sunny afternoon with temperatures climbing to about 65 degrees. Winds should stay light, making it a comfortable day for fall errands, park walks, and outdoor plans across the five boroughs.
Sunny Sunday Leads Into A Warmer Monday
Sunday night will remain clear with a low near 51 degrees. Monday looks even warmer, with sunshine and a high around 68 before a dry cold front moves through Monday night.
The National Weather Service has a Frost Advisory until 9 a.m. Sunday for parts of coastal Connecticut and far eastern Long Island, but New York City is not included. City residents can expect a cool start rather than frost concerns, with light winds and no rain in the forecast.
Dry Stretch Brings A Midweek Cooldown
Temperatures dip behind Monday’s front, with sunny skies and a high near 61 Tuesday and mostly sunny conditions around 61 Wednesday. The nights will feel more autumnal.
The second half of the week trends warmer again, reaching about 69 Thursday and 72 Friday under mostly sunny to sunny skies. Saturday should stay mostly sunny, with virtually no rain expected throughout the week.
