Jacksonville Beach Pier turns into a professional surfing arena again Nov. 7-8, when the Super Girl Surf Festival returns for its sixth straight year in the city with a free, two-day lineup of surf competition, live music and youth sports programming. More than 1,500 female athletes across 10 sports are expected to take part, alongside a 15-act concert series and dozens of brand activations spread between the pier, Seawalk Pavilion and Latham Plaza.

This year marks the 20th season overall for the Super Girl brand and the festival's final stop of the season, according to a release distributed via PR Newswire. The event is produced by ASA Entertainment, an action sports event and content production agency founded in 1994 that stages competitions in surfing, skateboarding, BMX, inline skating, freestyle motocross, snowboarding, esports and music, distributing that content globally. Rick Bratman, ASA's CEO and founder of the Super Girl festival series, said the talent on display this year stands out. “The level of female talent coming together across surfing, sports and music is remarkable,” Bratman said, per the same PR Newswire release.

Bratman originally launched the Super Girl Pro Series in 2007, inspired by the unequal access and athletic opportunities his daughter faced compared to male athletes in action sports, according to VoyageJacksonville. The series expanded east to Jacksonville Beach in November 2021 as its first East Coast venue, a debut that, as reported by Action News Jax, drew an estimated 20,000 visitors per day and prompted then-Mayor Chris Hoffman to note the multi-day event's major economic boost to local businesses.

A Stacked Surf Field Chasing the Cape

The surf side of the festival returns with an official WSL QS2000 women's competition at Jacksonville Beach Pier, running from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The contest is expected to include Eden Walla, Kirra Pinkerton, Leilani McGonagle, Sage Erickson, U.S. Olympian Bryce Wettstein and local standout Lanea Mons. The event also marks the conclusion of the Quest for the Cape, a three-stop points race spanning Oceanside, Virginia Beach and Jacksonville Beach.

Winners of the WSL Super Girl competition take home a signature superhero cape, and last November in Jacksonville Beach, surfer Alyssa Spencer won her third career Super Girl cape, tying Hawaiian surfing legend Coco Ho for the most titles in event history, according to Boardriding. Spencer defeated 15-year-old Eden Walla in that final to secure her second First Coast victory and ninth career WSL Qualifying Series win. Walla, a California native, became the youngest winner in Super Girl history at age 15 when she captured the Oceanside leg in September 2024, per Stay Golden Brands. The QS2000 contest is part of the WSL Qualifying Series.

Joan Jett Headlines a 15-Act Concert Series

Music is as central to the weekend as the surfing. The concert series features 15 free live performances, with Switchfoot, Lupe Fiasco, B.o.B and Gym Class Heroes as headliners. The bill also includes Emily Zeck, Anora, Hello Sister, Flailing Idiot, McKenzi Brooke, Annie Dukes, Grom & the Jacks, Kalani Rose & the Vibe, Dove Bomb and Lucy Spotts.

Concert access requires advance online registration, with entry handled first-come, first-served until capacity is reached. Premium VIP packages are also available, including pit access, complimentary food and beverages, private VIP bars, shaded and elevated seating, deluxe restrooms and private entry. The Festival Village at Seawalk Pavilion and Latham Plaza runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Beyond the Surf Heats: Wellness, Mentorship and Youth Programs

Festival admission itself remains free, and the event has received local support.

Programming beyond the pier and concert stage includes 16 free fitness and wellness classes, leadership panels, youth mentorship programs and a female art exhibition, plus more than 50 interactive brand activations. Professional freestyle trampolining, hosted by the Freestyle Trampoline Association, also features on the schedule. In partnership with the World Surf League and title sponsor Jersey Mike's, the festival runs its WSL Rising Tides program, a mentorship program for 25 girls with top female surfers that includes an ocean-safety component led by lifeguards, according to a release carried by PR Newswire.

ASA Entertainment's broader Super Girl portfolio extends well past the beach, including the 27-year-old high school anti-bullying No Hate Tour, which uses professional BMX athletes to deliver mental health and anti-bullying messages to high schools nationwide, per The Coast News. The Jacksonville Beach stop is one of three annual Super Girl festivals spanning the West Coast, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.

For those who cannot make it to the sand, the competition will stream live from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST on Nov. 7-8 across eight digital partners, with broader television coverage airing from January to April 2027 through 28 national and regional broadcast partners.
