FOX 35 Orlando reported that its account of the crash relied on information from Moderne’s owner. The station said the owner reported that no one was on the patio when the incident occurred. FOX 35 had not confirmed the cause of the crash or the driver’s condition, and said it had no information on whether anyone was cited.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. Saturday at Moderne, an upscale bar and grill on East Colonial Drive. FOX 35 described owner-provided footage of a black SUV hitting the patio’s safety barricade and outdoor furniture, and reported significant damage to the seating area.
Other vehicle crashes have been reported in the area. In January, crews responded to a car that crashed into a building on East Colonial Drive, according to ClickOrlando.
In a separate incident, a vehicle struck a restaurant’s outdoor seating area, killing one woman and injuring four others, WDBO reported.
