A single-vehicle rollover crash near East Hildebrand Avenue and Broadway on San Antonio's North Side sent two people to the hospital early Monday morning, and police detained a third person for questioning as the investigation continued. The SUV struck an electrical box before flipping, according to reports from the scene.
The crash happened around 3:54 a.m. Monday, according to Yahoo News, which reported that a 26-year-old woman was driving east on Hildebrand and preparing to turn left onto Broadway when police said she made a wide turn, striking the box before the SUV rolled over. The outlet reported that the driver and her 26-year-old male passenger were initially found unresponsive, but police later said both were alert before being transported to a local hospital.
Yahoo News reported that the driver and passenger in the September 21 crash were taken to the hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries. WOAI reported that one person required urgent medical attention after a separate Hildebrand Avenue rollover on October 25, 2026, at about 1:58 a.m.
Third Person Detained as Investigation Continues
Police detained a third person for questioning, according to a separate report from News 4 San Antonio, which also noted that there was no word on the condition of the two people who were hospitalized. In a separate Hildebrand Avenue rollover on October 25, 2026, at about 1:58 a.m., San Antonio police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the scene, and officers temporarily closed the roadway, per WOAI's reporting. SAPD is investigating the September 21 crash, per the same account from Yahoo News. WOAI said the cause of the October 25 crash was unclear and described its October 25 report as a developing story, with updates expected as more information became available.
Another North Side Rollover Last Month
This is not the only rollover to hit San Antonio's North Side recently. On September 4, a 21-year-old man was hospitalized after a single-vehicle rollover near North Loop 1604 West and West Bitters Road, according to KSAT. In that incident, SAPD said the driver struck a barrier at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to flip, according to the station's report.
City Tracking Crash Hotspots Citywide
San Antonio's Transportation Department has been working to map where the city's most severe crashes occur. The department launched a High-Injury Network Dashboard, as KSAT reported, drawing on Texas Department of Transportation crash data from 2018 through 2022. Users can filter the tool by all modes, pedestrian crashes or bicycle crashes, with results displayed through maps and graphs, per the outlet. The city established its Vision Zero program in 2015 and created a Vision Zero Action Plan in 2024, the same report noted, as San Antonio continues efforts to reduce severe and fatal crashes across its roadways.
