A Suzuki motorcycle was stolen.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, the motorcycle was taken from the Inverness area at approximately 1:30 a.m. on October 19. The bike carries Florida tag 92FICZ, and investigators have assigned the case number 26-00010869 for anyone calling in with information.
The 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa starts at an MSRP of $18,599 and packs a 1,340cc inline-four engine that produces 187 horsepower, according to Cycle World.
Why That Price Tag Matters Legally
Under Florida law, motor vehicle theft is third-degree grand theft regardless of value.
Motorcycles made up more than 75% of all recreational vehicle thefts tracked nationwide in 2025, with 44,564 stolen; 63% of all recreational vehicles remained unrecovered and 41% of motorcycles were recovered, according to an August report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau. The same agency's historical data ranks Florida second nationally for motorcycle thefts behind only California, and lists Suzuki among the top five most frequently stolen manufacturers in the country.
Time Is Working Against Investigators
Speed matters here. NICB research shows more than half of recovered stolen recreational vehicles turn up within two weeks of being reported, so that timeline may matter in the search for the stolen Suzuki motorcycle. Citrus County residents face roughly a 1-in-114 risk of experiencing property crime such as vehicle theft, burglary, or larceny, according to NeighborhoodScout data on Inverness.
Hoodline reported on a forgery warrant sweep earlier this month.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 352-249-2790. Tipsters who want to stay anonymous can reach Crime Stoppers of Citrus County, where cash rewards of up to $3,000 are available.
