Other Recent Swissvale Shootings
The Locust Street investigation comes amid a string of other shooting reports in Swissvale, though it is not established whether any of them are connected. A man was reportedly shot once in the shoulder and drove himself to a local hospital, where his condition was described as stable, according to Yahoo News. Accounts of that incident diverge on one key point: one report states the alleged shooter had not been identified and that the case would be reviewed by the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office to determine charges, while the other states that the adults involved had been identified and that the District Attorney's Office would determine charges.
That same shoulder-wound case traces back to a shooting WTAE says police were called to in the 2400 block of South Braddock Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Investigators told the station that a man and a juvenile were arguing when the eventual victim approached and interjected, and the man arguing with the juvenile then allegedly shot him.
In a separate incident, WTAE reported that Allegheny County police were investigating after a 21-year-old man was shot a little before 9:40 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Braddock Avenue.
