Tampa punk band Lychee Camp is throwing open the doors at The Bricks in Ybor City this Friday, Oct. 16, with a free show built around a very specific crowd: the skaters rolling into town for Tampa Am. Mirror Parts and Atomic Treehouse round out the bill, and there's no cover to get in.

The timing is no accident. According to Creative Loafing Tampa, the lineup was booked to help welcome skaters in town for Tampa Am 2026, the amateur skateboarding competition taking over Skatepark of Tampa this week. Per Pirate's Parlour, the 32nd annual Tampa Am runs Oct. 15 through 18 at the park's 4215 E. Columbus Drive location — a place where amateur street skaters from around the world come to make their name.

The Bricks, located at 1327 E. 7th Ave., is no stranger to hosting Lychee Camp. The venue's open-air courtyard serves as the heart of the property, an inviting setting for live music performances and community events, the venue notes. The pairing of Lychee Camp with Mirror Parts and Atomic Treehouse has happened before at The Bricks, including a previous no-cover Push Art show featuring the same three acts alongside a DJ set.

A Band Built on Tampa House Parties and Local Scenery

Lychee Camp's Tampa roots run deep. The band's story began back in 2015 with the five-song Lychee Camp EP, as noted by the station's report on the group. Music coverage has struggled to pin the band to a single genre, with one outlet describing Lychee Camp as pop-punk, emo, indie, electronic, or whatever you wanna call them, according to Dying Scene.

That same outlet reported that Lychee Camp once threw a house party and recorded a music video for their single Floating right there on camera, a DIY approach that has carried through the band's catalog. WMNF later tapped the band's song Let's Go Surfing as its Song of the Day on Jan. 29, 2025.

New Video Leans Into Davis Islands Scenery

Just ahead of Friday's show, Lychee Camp premiered a new video for its song Sunday Scaries, as reported by Creative Loafing Tampa. The video takes viewers to Davis Islands' Seaplane Basin Park and the Bake 'N Babes photo booth, giving the release a distinctly local flavor before the band steps onstage in Ybor City.

The free show also continues a pattern for the venue and band: Lychee Camp & Friends played a similarly no-cover gig at The Bricks back in July 2026. For skaters wrapping up a day at Tampa Am and looking for something to do after dark, Friday's lineup offers a cheap, close-by option just a short trip from Skatepark of Tampa.
