An autographed T-shirt is missing from Skipper's Smokehouse. The longtime restaurant and live-music hangout says it wants the shirt back.
According to 10 Tampa Bay, Skipper's Smokehouse is seeking the return of a stolen autographed T-shirt.
The Missing Shirt
The shirt in question wasn't just merchandise. Per the same account, two staff members make a habit of asking performers to sign two T-shirts after each show, a small ritual that preserves memories of the artists who've passed through Skipper's stage over the years.
That backstage space is reserved strictly for artists and staff, not the general public, the station's report notes. Skipper's has reportedly shared a social media post reminding followers of that boundary, along with a picture of the car the man was seen in, as it tries to track down whoever walked off with the shirt.
The Shirt's Return
The goal is to get the shirt returned.
The ask fits the character of a place that's built its identity on decades of live music memories. Skipper's Smokehouse has been a hot spot for cool music since the 1980s, according to FOX 13 Tampa Bay, which also notes the venue is open Thursday through Sunday with live music offered each day it's open.
Decades of History Behind the Stage
Skipper's roots run deep in Tampa. The venue's own history page describes it as a long-standing live music venue, restaurant, oyster bar, caterer and talent agency, and notes it was purchased in 1980 by three Air Force friends who had met while stationed in Alaska.
Those decades of shows are exactly why a single signed T-shirt matters so much to the staff who collect them. For now, Skipper's is leaning on its community rather than any official report, hoping someone recognizes the car or the man from the video and helps bring the shirt home.
