Hoover's annual food festival is back for another autumn evening at Aldridge Gardens, with organizers again warning that tickets tend to disappear well before the gates open. The Taste of Hoover is set for Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m., bringing together dozens of local restaurants, caterers and beverage providers for an evening of sampling, music and garden strolling.
According to Hoover Sun, general admission tickets cost $50 for the public and $45 for Aldridge Gardens members, with sales handled through aldridgegardens.com. One ticket covers access to every participating food and beverage vendor at the event, which is held at Aldridge Gardens, located at 3530 Lorna Road in Hoover. Organizers say the event frequently sells out in advance, since only a limited number of tickets are sold each year, the outlet reports.
The gardens themselves describe the night as a showcase for the city's culinary range. “The Taste of Hoover celebrates the variety of culinary styles found throughout our city,” according to Aldridge Gardens, which notes the 2026 event will be held on Thursday, October 15th and will let guests enjoy “an autumn evening of sampling delicious dishes from some of Hoover's best restaurants and Aldridge Gardens' preferred caterers while listening to music.”
Who's Serving This Year
Hoover Sun's reporting lists several vendors expected at this year's event, including Board in Birmingham, Grimaldi's Pizza, Tacos de Azul at Brock's Gap Brewing, Saw's BBQ, East 59 Cafe, Michelle's Chocolate Laboratory and Something Simple Coffee + Sips, among dozens of other food and beverage providers. Live music and ambient lighting round out the evening, per the same account.
Kristen Valentine, events coordinator for the City of Hoover, said the setting is central to the event's draw. “The evening setting and Aldridge Gardens location are a major part of the event's appeal,” she said, per the outlet's report. Valentine added that the festival is designed as both a social outing and a way to discover new dining spots around the city.
Valentine said the event lets the community experience Hoover’s flavors and celebrates local businesses. She also described the broader appeal for attendees: guests can connect with local people, discover new restaurants, and try unfamiliar foods and drinks, she said, according to Hoover Sun's report.
Parking and Access Details
The festival offers parking and shuttle service from the Trader Joe's parking lot in Riverchase Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Highway 31 and Lorna Road, per the same account. Free general admission to Aldridge Gardens is suspended during event hours, the outlet reports, meaning attendance requires a Taste of Hoover ticket rather than the garden's usual open access.
How Past Years Have Played Out
Turnout has been strong in recent years. More than 400 people came out to the 2024 Taste of Hoover event, according to Hoover Sun, with guests able to sample food and beverages from about 40 restaurants, catering companies and other food and drink providers that year. Attendees found “a wide range of food choices, from pizza to barbecue, sushi, hamburger sliders, chicken” that fall.
Some of that year's standout pours and plates came from familiar Hoover names. One attendee said he found German beer from Brock's Gap Brewing Co. that he liked, while another guest, Jackie, enjoyed the food from the La Paz Mexican restaurant, according to the same 2024 coverage. With several of those vendors expected back in some form this year, organizers are betting the 2026 edition draws another sizable crowd to Aldridge Gardens' autumn setting.
