Thirteen Waterford-area businesses will dish out appetizers, entrees and desserts on Nov. 16, 2026, when Taste of Waterford returns from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mott High School. The event raises money for Fueling Kids' Futures, a nonprofit that keeps local elementary students fed throughout the school year.

As reported by The Oakland Press, the lineup includes Square One Eats and Treats, Brody's on Cass, Johnny Black's Public House, Red Wood Grill, Irish Tavern, Hummus and Garlic, Green Apple Restaurant, Guido's Premium Pizza, Trini and Carmen's Mexican Restaurant, and Bryan's Neighborhood Coney. Attendees will be able to sample dishes from each business across the two-hour event, with every dollar raised going toward keeping local schoolchildren fed.

A New Venue With More Room to Roam

This year's tasting moves to Mott High School, which organizers say offers more space for both guests and participating restaurants than previous locations. The event is planned as a strolling dinner.

Among the participants is Hummus and Garlic, whose Waterford location sits at 5127 Highland Road in Waterford Township, according to hummusgarlic.com. The restaurant's menu there includes bowls and shawarma.

Feeding Kids Every Week of the School Year

Fueling Kids' Futures is the nonprofit benefiting from the Nov. 16 tasting event. According to its own website, the Waterford program now operates at both Riverside and Donelson Hills Elementary schools, feeding more than 350 children each year, per fuelingkidsfutures.org. The annual figure is distinct from The Oakland Press's report that 300 elementary students receive food bags weekly.

The nonprofit's own site also notes that Changing Places Moving & Services has partnered with the program from the very beginning, helping provide food that gets packed each week. Fueling Kids' Futures describes itself as a 100% volunteer-based program, according to its how-to-help page.

Comparing Waterford's Restaurant-Fundraiser Scene

Taste of Waterford isn't the only event spotlighting the township's dining scene this year. Earlier in 2026, the Waterford Chamber of Commerce hosted Waterford Restaurant Week from March 1 through March 15, with participants including Brody's on Cass, Green Apple, Irish Tavern, Red Wood Grill and Square One Eats & Treats — several of the same businesses now taking part in the Nov. 16 tasting event for Fueling Kids' Futures.
