Terrence Howard is set to open the second day of Social Fest 2026 at 10 a.m. on Nov. 13, headlining a two-day conference at the McAllen Convention Center that organizers hope will pull in more than 3,000 creators, entrepreneurs and marketing professionals. The Academy Award-nominated actor, musician and inventor joins a keynote roster that also includes viral food critic Keith Lee, comedian and digital creator Leo González, and best-selling author and mindfulness expert Case Kenny.
The event runs Nov. 12-13 at the McAllen Convention Center, according to RGV Business Journal, which reported that Howard will deliver the conference's opening keynote. The outlet describes the gathering as a two-day conference bringing together content creators, entrepreneurs and marketing professionals, with four keynote speakers anchoring the schedule alongside more than 40 additional speakers, per MyRGV.com. That speaker lineup went live on Tuesday, the outlet reported, with names like independent journalist Aaron Parnas, AI go-to-market lead Hash Syed and YouTuber Amy McKiel joining the bill.
Keith Lee, who built a following of 17.4 million on TikTok reviewing small-business eateries with what fans call genuine takes, was confirmed as a keynote speaker in a separate report from ValleyCentral. The station notes the conference aims to bring together business owners, marketing professionals, brands and creators to learn about the impact of the social media economy, and reports the event is hosted by Brand Geniuz, a Mission-based content marketing agency. The station also reports this year's expected theme is “The Year of the Creator.”
From a Mission Startup to a McAllen Expansion
Social Fest's first iteration drew more than 1,000 attendees to Mission the previous year, the same RGV Business Journal report states, while a separate account from RGVision Magazine had organizers expecting the 2025 event, held Nov. 12-13 at the Mission Event Center, to draw over 1,200 attendees. Either way, the 2026 move to McAllen marks the organization's second event overall, with organizers telling the business journal in a May report that they aimed to bring more than 3,000 people to the November gathering — a sizable jump from the inaugural turnout.
Organizers also said the bigger structural change this year would be adding more workshops in smaller rooms rather than relying mainly on speeches to large crowds, per the same report. MyRGV.com reports Social Fest 2026 will offer breakout workshops focused on TikTok growth, content strategy, branding and AI utilization, alongside live podcasts and panels where creators and founders share their stories.
Tickets, Expo Space and What's Included
General admission for Social Fest 2026 costs $99 per person, with additional VIP and VIP+ ticket options also available, according to MyRGV.com's report. The event is also set to include a creator and business expo featuring local exhibitors sharing brand-building experience, along with photo and content zones, and will conclude with after-parties attended by creatives, founders and brand ambassadors, the outlet reported.
The festival was announced at a news conference on May 27 at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, according to MyRGV.com. Social Fest was founded by Yaw Sam, Aylin Madrigal Ramos and Joshua Howard, who the outlet reports intend to empower small-town creators, culture-driven brands and underrepresented voices, and to equip the Valley with authentic strategies, resources and people who've found success online.
A Broader Pitch for the Rio Grande Valley
Beyond the speaker roster, organizers have framed the conference as part professional development, part cultural celebration and part creative festival, according to RGVision Magazine, which reports the goal is to position social media as a driver of economic growth and present the Rio Grande Valley as a destination for creativity, business and opportunity. The event's own speaker application page echoes that ambition, stating organizers want to shape the future of the social media economy in South Texas, according to Social Fest Experience, which is also accepting applications from marketers, entrepreneurs, creatives and social media experts hoping to speak.
MyRGV.com reports that internet creators at the McAllen Convention Center will speak about how they built their platforms and how Rio Grande Valley residents can do the same — a framing that fits organizers' stated aim of connecting a global creator economy to a very local audience. The full speaker list and schedule are posted at socialfestexperience.com, per the outlet's reporting.
