The Broad and L.A. Taco are teaming up again for a free, two-day celebration of Los Angeles, set for October 24-25 at East West Bank Plaza outside the downtown museum. The event runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and includes local DJs, family workshops, spray-paint art activities, a collaborative mural, food vendors and independent media programming — with a free general admission ticket required for event access.
A Follow-Up To A Rain-Soaked Debut
This is a return engagement for the pairing: according to The Broad, the museum and L.A. Taco previously co-hosted a community celebration centered on collection artist Patrick Martinez, who contributed neon-inspired artwork and a message reading “LA MIGRACIÓN ES NATURAL” to a limited-run poster handed out at that earlier gathering. That event also featured a discussion among Martinez, L.A. Taco's Memo Torres and recording artist Miguel that The Broad says sold out and required its own free ticket because seating was limited.
L.A. Taco reported that roughly 5,000 people showed up for that first collaboration despite rain, with more than 2,000 additional viewers tuning into a livestream of the panel discussion. The independent, member-supported Los Angeles newsroom and cultural platform used the moment to thank its community for turning out in force, framing the turnout as proof that audiences wanted more of this blend of art, journalism and street-level culture.
Live Murals From Saber And Mr B Baby
The October 24-25 edition leans further into hands-on art-making. Saber, born in 1976 in Glendale, is billed as the Saturday spray-paint artist and will create new spray-paint artwork at the event; he's known for a graffiti piece along the L.A. River. Sunday's muralist is Mr B Baby, the artist name of Michelle Guerrero, whose work draws on Mexican folk art and children's books; she'll create new mural artwork live during the second day.
The hands-on spray-paint workshops will use water-based, non-toxic spray paint supplied by Sprayday, making the activity accessible to younger visitors and families attending the free workshops.
DJs Pulling From Latin Music And Local Radio
The event's DJs include Bianca Lexis, Passionfruit, Radha and Jasmine Salvino. Salvino hosts Night Bloom on Dublab Radio.
Alongside them, ZZK Records DJs El G, Marlon Fuentes and Que Chola Tan Rica will perform.
Museum Access, Gallery Changes And A Free Print
Museum admission to The Broad remains always free, and a free general admission ticket includes same-day access to the event, the third-floor collection galleries and the museum shop. Those galleries feature works and artist pairings including John Baldessari, Alex Israel, Sharon Lockhart, Ed Ruscha and Jonas Wood, and The Broad has reinstalled two-thirds of its free third-floor galleries ahead of a planned 2028 expansion. The museum's first-floor galleries are closed for installation during this period, and museum hours on event days run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Event tickets exclude Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirror Room — The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away, a 2013 work that requires a separate booking. Attendees who do visit will find a new exhibition arriving soon after: Has the Myth Been Shattered, a 2024 work by Guadalupe Rosales, goes on view November 21, 2026 through April 4, 2027, and The Broad is giving away a free print of the piece to event attendees while supplies last.
A Weekend Tied To The Plaza's Anniversary
Saturday's festivities are also folded into Grand Avenue Arts: All Access, a free event for visitors of all ages that is marking its 10-year anniversary in 2026. Adults looking for something stronger can visit the beer garden by Homage Brewing, which is restricted to attendees 21 and over.
The celebration is staged at East West Bank Plaza just outside The Broad. Between the mural artists, the ZZK Records lineup, and the returning partnership with L.A. Taco, organizers appear to be betting that last year's rain-soaked turnout was no fluke.
