The Mark Hotel on Manhattan's Upper East Side is getting its first-ever spa, and it's teaming up with cult skincare brand Augustinus Bader to do it. The Mark Wellness & Longevity Spa by Augustinus Bader will feature three dedicated treatment rooms offering the brand's signature facials alongside technology like microcurrent, full-spectrum LED and even a hyperbaric chamber, open to both hotel guests and local New Yorkers.
Timing on the debut is a little muddled across sources. A joint announcement from The Mark Hotel and Augustinus Bader states the spa will unveil this October, while Haute Living reports it's scheduled for November 2026. WWD, for its part, pins the opening to the end of November, telling readers, “Starting end of November, Upper East Siders can seek sanctuary at a new spa.” Whichever date proves accurate, the spa marks a milestone for both parties: it will be The Mark Hotel's first-ever spa and Augustinus Bader's first dedicated hotel spa in the United States, according to the hotel and brand's announcement.
What's Actually Inside the Three Treatment Rooms
Per the hotel and brand's own announcement, the spa will feature precision nano-channeling, microcurrent, Biosonix ultrasound, full-spectrum LED and ionized oxygen therapy alongside Augustinus Bader's signature facials and personalized treatment protocols. WWD offers a more granular look at the layout, describing the spa as three cabins, or retreats: one for the face, one for the body and one housing a hyperbaric chamber meant for post-treatment and post-procedure healing. That same report notes the menu will also include red light therapy and medical-grade compression boots, connecting mind and body through what WWD calls a selection of holistic treatments.
Central to it all is TFC8, Augustinus Bader's proprietary technology. As Haute Living describes it, TFC8 was developed from more than 35 years of Professor Augustinus Bader's research into cellular communication and the body's regenerative processes. The brand says its protocols are personalized for each spa partnership, and in prior reporting on the brand's spa network, WWD noted that Augustinus Bader bespoke treatments typically start with a skin diagnosis before moving into a consultation on treatment options and add-ons.
A Hotel Already Loaded With Wellness and Dining Perks
The spa's arrival follows what Haute Living describes as a meticulous restoration of The Mark's guest rooms and suites, work that preserved interiors originally designed by Jacques Grange. The hotel, located at the corner of Madison Avenue and 77th Street, already offers a 24-hour Technogym fitness center, an in-house personal trainer and in-room massage service — and its penthouse comes with a private gym and an outdoor cold plunge, according to the same report. The Mark also houses Jean-Georges Vongerichten's restaurant, the Mark Bar and Caviar Kaspia, rounding out a property better known until now for its dining and nightlife than for dedicated wellness space.
The new spa slots The Mark into a growing roster of hotel partnerships for Augustinus Bader, which WWD says is already present in roughly 100 spas worldwide, including the Corinthia in London. The brand also debuted what WWD called its largest branded spa at Hôtel Costes in Paris last September. Neither the full treatment menu nor pricing for the New York location has been announced, and no exact opening date has been confirmed beyond the conflicting October and November windows cited across sources, including Time Out.
