Three people were rushed to the hospital Monday night after a shooting on Savannah Terrace SE in Southeast Washington, D.C., in the city's Shipley neighborhood. Police found all three victims conscious and breathing at the scene, though their conditions afterward were unclear, and investigators have issued a lookout for a silver sedan while the search for a suspect continues.
Officers Rushed to the Scene Monday Night
According to FOX 5 DC, the shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Savannah Terrace SE and injured two men and one woman, all of whom suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Seventh District officers responded around 8:28 p.m., per WJLA, and found the three victims conscious and breathing when they arrived.
The station reported that police issued a preliminary lookout for a silver sedan believed to be connected to the shooting. No arrests had been made as of the initial reports, and the conditions of the three people hurt remained unclear, according to DC News Now. That outlet's report also noted investigators were still working to locate the sedan in connection with the incident.
Not the First Shooting on This Block
This is not the first time gunfire has erupted on Savannah Terrace SE this year. A separate triple shooting happened in the 1900 block of the same street on July 9, 2026, and the same DC News Now report on that earlier case noted it marked the second triple shooting in the District within a 48-hour span at the time. In that incident, two victims were found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries, and detectives later learned a third man had also been hospitalized with a gunshot wound from the same shooting. Police said three men were arrested in connection with that July shooting.
Savannah Terrace SE has seen other violent incidents in recent years. On October 27, 2025, a shooting was reported at 8:18 p.m. in the 1900 block of the street, which WJLA reported initially involved a boy who was shot; police later said the 5-year-old suffered a graze wound from either a bullet or a firework rather than a confirmed gunshot wound. MPD records also show homicide investigations opened after shootings in the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace in May 2022 and May 2023.
