Baltimore County police are searching for three people accused of assaulting and robbing a victim on the Towson University campus early Thursday morning, with two of the attackers allegedly fleeing in a black Toyota Camry after the attack. Towson University police were alerted to the assault around 12:20 a.m., according to a school incident alert.

Officers from both Towson University police and Baltimore County police responded to the first block of West Burke Avenue in Towson, as reported by WBFF/Fox45 News. Two suspects are accused of robbing and assaulting the victim before fleeing westbound on Burke Avenue, dropping the stolen property as they ran. Police believe the pair then left the area in a black Toyota Camry. Anyone with information has been asked to call Baltimore County police at 410-887-2361.

A Stretch of Burke Avenue With a Troubled History

A Stretch of Burke Avenue With a Troubled History Thursday's incident adds to a string of robberies and assaults that have unfolded along the same Towson corridor in recent years. In one earlier case, police said they believed the same men were responsible for an assault in which a 24-year-old Towson University student was robbed and stabbed near Burke and Centre avenues, according to WBAL-TV. That report also described a separate robbery in which two men forced a 20-year-old Goucher College student to the ground on Burke Avenue and threatened to stab him, stealing cash from his wallet before fleeing; the victim suffered minor injuries, per the same account.

A separate incident reported by Baltimore Fishbowl described a commuter Towson University student who was stabbed and robbed of his cellphone by a group of young men on Burke Avenue. Towson University police said at the time that three robbers connected to that case remained at large. Baltimore Fishbowl noted that incident came about a month after another Towson-area stabbing, though it was unclear whether the crimes were related.

Other Recent Towson-Area Robbery Cases

Robberies tied to the Towson area haven't been confined to the streets around campus. Four teenagers, ages 14 to 17, were arrested after allegedly assaulting and robbing another group of teens inside Towson Town Center, according to WMAR-2 News. At least one victim in that case was injured after being cut with a screwdriver, the station reported.

In a separate March 2025 case detailed by the Baltimore County Government, charges against one teen included armed robbery, while 19-year-old Immanuel Robinson faced charges of armed robbery, first-degree assault and being a minor in possession of a firearm. Robinson was held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to the county's account. No arrests have been confirmed in Thursday's campus case, and the identities of the three people being sought have not been released.
