Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division detectives were interviewing people at the scene as the investigation continued, ABQ RAW reported. The outlet also said New Mexico Highway 333, which had been closed during the response, had reopened. Who was detained, whether anyone remained in custody and whether charges had been filed were not confirmed in the reports.

Eight people left the residence during the SWAT operation, according to ABQ RAW. The outlet reported that sheriff’s office drone operators saw multiple firearms inside the home. Authorities later cleared the property and said the immediate threat had ended.

Deputies went to the 1100 block of New Mexico Highway 333 at about 3 a.m. on October 31 after receiving a disturbance call. Initial reports included yelling, a possible physical altercation, threats and people reportedly armed with firearms, ABQ RAW reported. While deputies were speaking outside the home with a 17-year-old male, someone inside fired toward them; a round struck a patrol vehicle. KOAT also reported that a sheriff’s vehicle was hit and no one was injured.

The sheriff’s office called in its SWAT team because armed people were reported to be inside. New Mexico State Police, Edgewood Police Department and Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office assisted, ABQ RAW reported.
