Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler is bringing his Bigface Coffee brand home to Texas, with a mobile cafe set to open outside the Fairfield Market H-E-B in Cypress come November. The trailer, located at 28550 US-290, will serve espresso drinks, cold brew and pour-over coffee from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily once it gets rolling.
Starting in mid-November, the coffee concept will begin operating the mobile trailer at the Fairfield Market H-E-B, according to CultureMap Houston. It marks Bigface's first physical presence in Texas, a notable homecoming given that Butler grew up in Tomball before playing college basketball at Marquette, as Community Impact reports. The outlet also notes Bigface was in the hiring stage as of Monday, with plans to open its first Texas location in Cypress come November.
Before the trailer opens, Bigface is looking to hire baristas and a manager, per the same CultureMap report. The brand's coffee is made with beans sourced from Central America, South America and Africa, and the menu leans on the company's Omni blend alongside single-origin coffees suited to both espresso machines and filter brewing, the article notes.
From Hotel Room Hustle to National Coffee Brand
Butler's coffee operation didn't start with a trailer or a storefront — it started in a hotel room. During the 2020 NBA bubble, the Warriors star began brewing and selling coffee out of his hotel room to fellow players, according to Square. That bubble-era side hustle quietly grew into something much bigger: Bigface has since expanded through direct-to-consumer sales, as Daily Coffee News reported.
Butler opened the Bigface flagship store in Miami in 2024, per Square, a 2,500-square-foot shop in the city's Design District, according to Daily Coffee News. The brand's reputation has grown well beyond basketball circles — a 2024 New York Times article saw writer Priya Krishna and a tasting panel give Bigface a five-out-of-five rating, CultureMap notes. Butler has also traveled throughout South America during recent offseasons sampling beans for sale both online and in his store, according to NBC News.
Pop-Ups Have Drawn Crowds Coast to Coast
Cypress won't be the first place Bigface has tested the pop-up format outside its Miami home base. The brand held a temporary pop-up in San Francisco's Mission District in July 2025 that attracted a crowd of coffee lovers, according to NBC Sports Bay Area. That pop-up ran at Square's Corner Store from July 10 through July 27, 2025, offering espresso drinks, cold brew, pour-over coffee, bottled and canned ReadyBev coffees, and juices, per Square's press materials.
Lines for the San Francisco location reportedly crawled around the corner, with a roughly 30-minute wait reported at 8:50 a.m., according to Eater San Francisco. Menu prices there ranged from $4 to $9 for espresso drinks, $8 for cold brew and $10 for pour-overs, with a $100 flight of three coffees also on offer, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The same Chronicle report noted that 250-gram coffee bags sold for between $30 and $40 at that pop-up.
Whether Cypress customers will see similar pricing or wait times remains to be seen, as those specifics haven't been confirmed for the Texas location. What is clear is that a Houston-area H-E-B shopping trip is about to come with the option of a cup of coffee tied to an NBA all-star's hometown roots, a detail first reported locally by ABC13 Houston.
