Tony Award winner Matt Doyle is set to take the stage at Rittenhouse Grill at the Warwick Hotel on Monday, October 19, for a one-night cabaret performance blending Broadway favorites with deeply personal storytelling. The Philadelphia stop is part of the venue's Fall 2026 Broadway Cabaret season, which pairs acclaimed stage performers with an intimate dinner-and-show format inside the historic hotel.
According to phillycabaret.com, the series is presented at the elegant Rittenhouse Grill and combines acclaimed performers, exceptional dining, and the timeless charm of classic cabaret. Standard seating for the evening runs $200 per person, and the performance itself is built to run between 75 and 90 minutes without an intermission, per the same listing. The Fall 2026 lineup extends beyond Doyle, also featuring Tony winner Debbie Gravitte along with Bryce Allen Pinkham, Scarlett Strallen, Kelli Barrett and Jarrod Spector, as reported by BroadwayWorld.
From Spring Awakening Understudy to Tony Winner
Doyle's path to the Rittenhouse stage traces back nearly two decades. He made his Broadway debut in 2007 in Spring Awakening as a replacement for the roles of Hanschen and Melchior, the venue's artist page notes. He later joined The Book of Mormon in 2012, stepping into the starring role of Elder Price as a replacement for Nic Rouleau, and in 2021 he joined the Broadway transfer of the gender-swapped revival of Company, playing Jamie.
That performance as Jamie earned Doyle the 2022 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, a win also recognized with Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle honors. As noted by Playbill, his other Broadway credits include Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birdie, War Horse and The Book of Mormon.
A Setlist Built Around Personal Influences
Doyle's recent solo work has leaned into the singer-songwriters who shaped him rather than strictly Broadway standards. Per 54 Below, audiences can expect music from icons such as Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan, Carole King, Sting, Rufus Wainwright, Chris Stapleton and Sara Bareilles, among others. The same listing for his 54 Below shows, titled New Beginning, describes Doyle inviting audiences to join him on a personal journey as he weaves these unforgettable songs into his own story of life, loss and love.
Those New Beginning concerts, staged earlier this year, were accompanied by music director and arranger Evan Zavada, Playbill reported. Doyle recently returned to 54 Below for the two-show run, and the station's report notes he has also performed at Carnegie Hall with the New Pops and continues to perform his sold-out solo show throughout New York City in addition to appearances with symphonies around the country, according to BroadwayWorld's coverage.
