Trans-Siberian Orchestra is coming back to Detroit on Wednesday, December 23, 2026, with two shows at Little Caesars Arena, one at 3 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m. The stop marks the band's 30th anniversary winter tour and brings a reimagined staging of The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, followed by a second set loaded with lasers, pyrotechnics and other effects.
According to Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the band is “pulling out all the stops with a spectacular, reimagined staging of The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, followed by a high-energy second set” that includes “over-the-top lasers, pyrotechnics, and special effects.” Tickets for both Detroit performances are on sale now, per the same source, and are available online. As WDIV ClickOnDetroit reports, Kayla Reeves is among the vocalists who perform with the orchestra.
A Milestone Year for the Winter Tour
This will be Trans-Siberian Orchestra's 50th performance in Detroit, continuing a run that began in 1999, the band's site notes. Michigan as a whole has hosted 102 TSO shows in every touring year since then. The band's story traces back to 1996, when Paul O'Neill launched the project, according to 313 Presents; the first album arrived that same year, with a film and the start of touring following in 1999, per the same account.
Since then, Trans-Siberian Orchestra has sold more than 20 million tickets, the venue's report states. Trans-Siberian Orchestra has also generated more than $1 billion in gross ticket sales over its history, according to the same source.
Charity Built Into Every Ticket
Every Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert includes a charitable component, and at least $1 of every ticket sold benefits select local charities in the communities the tour visits, per 313 Presents. By 2024, the band said it had sold more than 20 million tickets in total and distributed in excess of $20 million to worthy causes. A separate report from WRIF Detroit puts the same giving figure at more than $20 million donated from TSO's tours to local charities across the country.
The band's reputation for elaborate stagecraft isn't new. Shows elsewhere have featured moving catwalks, levitating platforms and multiple costume changes for the vocalists, according to a report from Delaware Valley News detailing a Philadelphia stop. That outlet quoted singer Kayla Reeves, who said, “I've been in TSO since 2010,” and noted she performs with the group's East unit.
How Detroit Compares to Other Tour Stops
The two-show, afternoon-and-evening format isn't unique to Detroit. Philadelphia got the same split on December 22, 2024, the Delaware Valley News report noted. In San Antonio, the band performed two shows on Dec. 27, 2024, and two more on Dec. 21, 2025, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., mirroring the Detroit schedule, according to WRIF.
Detroit's most recent brush with the tour came on Dec. 27, 2025, when Trans-Siberian Orchestra performed The Ghosts of Christmas Eve: The Best of TSO and More at Little Caesars Arena, according to Metro Times. This year's show arrives roughly two months after the current date, giving fans a chance to plan ahead for the band's landmark 30th anniversary winter tour.
