Austin is starting Friday, October 30, at about 66 degrees, with showers expected off and on through most of the day. The damp setup is arriving just ahead of Halloween weekend.
Friday Turns Wet By Afternoon
Showers may pop up this morning, then become likely from early afternoon through the evening. Austin's high is expected near 71, with easterly winds of 4 to 8 mph and rain possible, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday night stays cloudy and damp, with a low around 63 and another chance of showers. The wet pattern lingers into Saturday, although the forecast calls for less steady rain and a high around 79, with showers possible before 4 p.m.
Halloween Evening Gets A Break
For Halloween plans, the timing is the silver lining: rain chances are expected to fade late Saturday afternoon into the evening. Skies should remain mostly cloudy and temperatures should dip to around 65 Saturday night, making for a mild but cloudy backdrop for trick-or-treating and other festivities.
Warm Sunday And Monday, Storm Chance Tuesday
Sunday rebounds to around 85 under mostly cloudy skies, followed by a partly sunny Monday near 86. Monday's south winds could gust as high as 25 mph, making for a breezier finish before the next weather shift.
A cold front is expected to move through Tuesday and may bring a line of showers and storms, with a high near 80. Behind it, Austin should turn drier and cooler, with cooler mornings and mild afternoons later in the week.
