Tucson starts Tuesday clear and around 64 degrees before sunrise, but the afternoon will feel more like summer with a high near 89. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after 2 p.m., giving the city a small storm risk before a much wetter midweek pattern takes over.
Storm Chances Build Wednesday And Thursday
Wednesday will again reach about 89 degrees, but clouds and storm chances will increase throughout the day. The National Weather Service is calling for a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday, with the best area-wide chances arriving Wednesday afternoon through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Thursday looks like the most unsettled day for Tucson, with showers and thunderstorms likely, a high near 84, and an 80% chance of precipitation. Southwest winds could reach 13 mph, with gusts up to 23 mph, while localized heavy rain and flash flooding remain possible, particularly northeast of the city and in parts of southern Arizona outside the metro area.
Cooler, Sunnier Weather Arrives Friday
The weather turns sharply cooler Friday, when sunny skies return and the high reaches only about 76 degrees. Friday night could dip to 57, followed by sunny weekend afternoons near 77 Saturday and 81 Sunday.
For outdoor plans, Tuesday afternoon may still work with a little flexibility, but Wednesday and Thursday call for a closer look at the sky and the radar. The storm pattern should ease by Friday, giving Tucson a more comfortable start to the weekend.
