Tuesday brings a brief chance of rain showers before the day heats up. The high should reach 75 to 80 degrees, but the bigger weather story is still ahead: strong winds are expected to sweep across Southeast Arizona late Thursday and continue into Saturday.
Showers Tuesday, Cooler Wednesday
Tuesday brings a 30% chance of rain showers, partly sunny skies and southwest winds of 5 to 15 mph. The National Weather Service expects showers to fade by early evening, followed by a partly cloudy night and a low near 58 degrees.
Wednesday will be noticeably cooler, with sunny skies and a high near 76 degrees. Thursday rebounds to around 84 degrees before breezy, clear conditions Thursday night.
Wind Advisory Arrives Thursday Night
A Wind Advisory is in effect Friday and Saturday. Forecasters expect east to southeast winds of 30 to 35 mph, with gusts reaching 50 to 60 mph in some locations.
The strongest winds may hit areas downstream of higher terrain, along terrain gaps and in east-west valleys. Blowing dust could briefly reduce visibility, while high-profile vehicles may face difficult driving conditions; residents should also secure lightweight outdoor items before the wind arrives.
Sunny Finish After A Blustery Weekend
Friday will be sunny with a high near 79 degrees and very windy conditions. Saturday starts with a slight chance of showers before turning partly cloudy, with another high near 79 and continued breezy conditions.
Sunday should be sunny and warmer near 83 degrees, followed by a mostly clear Monday with a high around 86. In other words, Tucson gets a quick taste of fall before the forecast swings back toward sunshine and late-week wind.
