Natalie's Sugarcane & Desserts is bringing its Tukwila storefront back to life next week, with a grand reopening set for Friday, Nov. 6, at the shop's longtime address at 17348 Southcenter Parkway. The juice bar and café, known for its fresh-pressed Vietnamese sugarcane drinks, closed for renovations before relaunching with an updated look and a handful of community giveaways planned for opening day.
The celebration will include a live on-site broadcast from KSWD Emma 94.1 running from noon to 2 p.m., with the station awarding prizes throughout, according to einpresswire.com. Everyone who stops by during the grand reopening will walk away with a gift bag, and the company says there will be additional promotions for patrons on hand. As KIRO 7 News reports, the company says it will welcome the community back with fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, real-fruit drinks and desserts.
A Refreshed Space With a New Mural
The Tukwila location first opened in 2021, and the renovation brought more than a cosmetic touch-up. The site's report notes the shop updated its point-of-sale system and other technologies, and reworked its service area to be more open so customers can watch their drinks being made from start to finish.
The renovated space also now features a “One Cane, Many Cultures” mural, meant to reflect the company's mission of uniting people through its flavors. Natalie's Sugarcane & Desserts CEO Drew Yim said the company aims to bring people of many cultures and backgrounds together through flavors and traditions, per the same account.
From a Single Founder's Dream to a Growing Local Chain
The business traces back to founder and owner Natalie Dinh, who opened Natalie's Sugarcane & Desserts in 2021 to bring fresh-pressed sugarcane juice and other Vietnamese fare to the Seattle area. Dinh said the business shares her sweetest memories of home and has grown while remaining rooted in her original dream, the einpresswire.com report states.
According to Seattle Southside, the family-owned and operated business is one of the few places in the region where customers can find beverages made with fresh sugarcane, pressed from stalks imported straight from the family's farm in Vietnam. The shop also serves boba, smoothies, coffee, sweets and street food, with a variety of in-house toppings including boba, grass jelly, lychee and durian.
Expansion Plans Beyond Tukwila
Natalie's Sugarcane & Desserts currently operates locations in Alki and Southcenter, and the company says it plans to open a third storefront soon in South Hill, Washington. It also intends to complete a fourth location by the end of 2026, though further details on timing and site have not been released.
For now, the focus is on Tukwila, where the Nov. 6 reopening marks the latest step in the small chain's growth from a single founder's idea into a multi-location operation serving sugarcane drinks and Vietnamese desserts across the Seattle area.
