Two people were critically injured in a cutting early Sunday near 84th Street and Blondo Street in northwest Omaha. Police were investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Omaha police were called just before 5 a.m. Sunday, according to KETV. Both victims were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The suspect had left before officers arrived, and police were searching the area.
Police Investigate What Led to the Cutting
Police said they were collecting evidence at the scene and working to determine exactly what led to the cutting, per the same report. As of Sunday, Omaha police had not released any information describing the suspect.
Lt. Sean Sheridan said the incident appeared to be “some sort of family disturbance,” according to KETV. Investigators have not disclosed further details about the relationship between those involved or what preceded the violence.
Separate Case and Support Resources
A separate cutting near 103rd Street and Nebraska Avenue on Sept. 16, 2026, was also reported as a family disturbance. WOWT reported that Omaha police said the two victims in that case were taken to separate hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The preliminary description of this incident as a family disturbance does not establish that it involved domestic violence. For people seeking support, the Omaha Mayor’s Office lists the Women’s Center for Advancement’s 24/7 crisis hotline at 402-345-7273.
Police Ask Public for Tips
Anyone with information about the cutting is urged to call Omaha Crimestoppers at 402-444-STOP, as reported by KETV. Residents can also submit tips directly to the Omaha Police Department, which maintains an online portal for reporting information about ongoing investigations.
No further updates on the suspect's identity or the victims' conditions had been released as of Sunday morning. This remains an active and developing investigation, and police have not said when they expect to release additional details.
