Two people were shot in the early morning hours near Club 425 in Springfield, Ohio, with both victims rushed to a Dayton trauma center for treatment. The shooting happened around 3:50 a.m. in the 420 block of Harrison Street, according to the Clark County Communication Center, and no suspect was in custody as of publication.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, and medics took both victims to Miami Valley Hospital, according to WDTN. The station reported that officials could not share the current conditions of the two people as of Sunday morning. Separately, WHIO-TV reported that Springfield police officers and emergency personnel initially transported both victims to Springfield Regional Medical Center before transferring them to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

That transfer pattern is not unusual for serious gunshot wounds in the region. Miami Valley Hospital is the only ACS-verified Level I Trauma Center serving 17 counties across Southwest Ohio, according to Premier Health, which operates the facility and uses CareFlight air and ground transport for severe penetrating trauma cases. Springfield Regional Medical Center lacks that same Level I capability. In this case, both victims were taken first to Springfield Regional Medical Center before being transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

A Longtime Harrison Street Venue

The shooting took place in the 420 block of Harrison Street, the address where Club 425 operates its first floor and patio space, according to City of Springfield municipal records. Those records show the venue's liquor permit ownership was transferred to 425 Club LLC back in February 2016, establishing it as a long-running commercial fixture on that stretch of Harrison Street.

No suspect has been identified or arrested, and the shooting remains under active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Springfield Police Division, which accepts phone tips at 937-324-7685 or anonymous email submissions at [email protected], according to the City of Springfield's official website.

A Department Stretched Across a City

The Springfield Police Division operates with an authorized strength of 130 sworn officers spread across patrol, investigative, and administrative subdivisions, and the agency is accredited through the Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Accreditation Program, per municipal records. The department has served the city since 1867.

Federal crime statistics compiled by CityRating recorded 715 violent crime incidents in Springfield in 2025, including 9 homicides and 577 aggravated assaults, placing the city's violent crime rate well above state and national averages.

Other Springfield Shootings

In August, three people were shot in the 600 block of West Liberty Street, with two of the victims also transported to Miami Valley Hospital and no suspect immediately identified. In September 2025, a separate early morning shooting killed a 22-year-old man in the 1400 block of Delta Road around 3:10 a.m., according to WHIO-TV.

Investigators have not said whether the Club 425 shooting began inside or outside the venue, nor have they released information on potential suspects or surveillance footage from nearby Harrison Street businesses. The investigation remains active, and WDTN has indicated it will update its reporting as more information becomes available.
