San Antonio police were searching for two people after a confrontation at a West Side convenience store left a man in his 30s with a throat injury and a woman with minor injuries Thursday afternoon. Officers responded to the store off West Martin Street just before 3:30 p.m.; police said the suspects fled on foot.
According to KENS 5, police said one suspect cut the man across the throat with a knife. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a woman hurt in the altercation escaped with minor injuries. KENS 5's account also described a 67-year-old man in a wheelchair being beaten and kicked repeatedly.
Fight Spilled From Store Into Parking Lot
Police said the fight began inside the convenience store and continued into a parking lot near a bus stop. The two suspects then ran down West Martin Street, according to the station's report.
Surveillance video from inside the store captured images of both suspects, KENS 5 reported. Police had not identified either person as of Thursday night.
Separate Report Describes Different Details
A separate report from Fox San Antonio described a West Side stabbing involving three suspects who it said attacked and stabbed a 31-year-old man multiple times at a bus stop in the 200 block of West Commerce Street around 12:40 a.m. That outlet reported the man was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. It remains unclear whether that report describes the same incident as the convenience store stabbing near West Martin Street, and the two accounts differ on the number of suspects, the location, the timing and the severity of the victim's injuries.
Fox San Antonio also reported that authorities had only a vague description of the suspects in that case and that the San Antonio Police Department searched the area but was unable to locate them.
