Waxhaw Police are asking for the public’s help finding a 16-year-old boy who has been missing since Monday afternoon. Trayven Grier was last seen around 3 p.m. on October 5 in the 400 block of Anne Avenue, and investigators have not said where he may have gone from there.
According to QC News, Grier is described as a mixed-race male standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing roughly 150 pounds, with light brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray shirt, black pants and black combat boots. The WCCB Charlotte report on the search confirms the Waxhaw Police Department is actively seeking the public’s assistance to locate the teen.
How to Help the Search
Anyone who sees Grier or knows where he might be is asked to email Det. Corey Howard at [email protected] or call the Waxhaw Police Department at 704-843-0353, extension 263, the same report notes. No further details about the circumstances of his disappearance have been released.
A separate report from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, as covered by Lincoln Times-News, describes a missing runaway juvenile with a similar name, Treyvan Grier. That account gives a different physical description — approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, 115 pounds, with long, curly light brown hair — and says he was last known to be wearing a black windbreaker-style jacket and blue jeans, rather than the outfit described in the Waxhaw case. It is not established whether the two reports refer to the same person.
A Second Report, Different Details
The Lincoln County report adds that Treyvan may be in the company of his adult sister in the Gastonia area. That sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact Detective R. Sorenson at 704-732-9050, or to reach out to the Lincoln County Communications Center, Crime Stoppers or local law enforcement.
Given the conflicting details between the two accounts, families and neighbors in Waxhaw are being urged to focus on the specific description tied to the Anne Avenue search — the black jacket, gray shirt, black pants and black combat boots — when reporting any sightings to Waxhaw investigators.
