A new waxing studio is set to open its doors in Georgetown next month, bringing full-body hair removal and skin care services to a fast-growing stretch of Highway 29. Waxing the City will open at 2021 Kauffman Loop, Suite 34, on November 20, according to franchise owner Anu Kandappan.
The announcement, first reported by Community Impact, places the new studio inside Twelve Oaks Retail, a newly built commercial strip center at the signalized intersection of Texas Highway 29 and Kauffman Loop. The center sits near a shadow-anchoring H-E-B grocery store, according to a LoopNet listing for the property.
Kandappan already operates Waxing the City studios in Leander and Cedar Park, making Georgetown her third Williamson County location. The Cedar Park store expanded its physical footprint in 2025 to keep up with suburban demand, per a report from Elearning.
What Services Will the New Studio Offer
Georgetown's new studio will offer full-body waxing using both hard and soft wax, including brow, bikini, Brazilian, arm and leg services. The menu also includes brow laminations, lash lifts, tinting and skin brightening treatments. Courtesy materials from Waxing the City describe the full suite as facial, body and Brazilian waxing services, along with brow tinting, henna and lamination, and lash tinting and lifting.
Every technician performing those services must hold a state esthetician or cosmetology license and complete the brand's in-house training to earn its proprietary Cerologist title, according to Waxing the City. In Texas, that licensing isn't optional window dressing. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation requires a minimum of 750 hours of accredited instruction for an esthetician license, or 1,000 hours for a cosmetology operator license, before anyone can legally perform waxing services in the state.
Why Franchises Keep Picking Georgetown
The Kauffman Loop studio is the latest sign of Georgetown's pull on multi-unit retail and personal care brands. The city was ranked the nation's fastest-growing city with a population over 50,000 after posting a 10.5% single-year population increase, according to the U.S. Census Bureau; Georgetown exceeded 101,000 residents by 2024. That growth has reshaped the area's commercial map, drawing national chains into new corridors built to serve expanding subdivisions.
Demographic data for the Kauffman Loop trade area shows an average annual household income of $126,000, buoyed by nearby master-planned communities including Santa Rita Ranch and MorningStar, per figures compiled by the Practice Real Estate Group. That kind of buying power has made the corridor attractive to specialized wellness operators looking for a built-in customer base.

Corporate Backing and the Business Behind the Brand
Waxing the City is part of Self Esteem Brands, whose portfolio also includes Anytime Fitness and The Bar Method. The Georgetown studio is owned by Kandappan.
Nationally, the brand has 167 locations, with average gross revenue of $478,025 per studio in 2025.
