A-Train Station is closing its brick-and-mortar restaurant in Birmingham's West End neighborhood, shuttering the Pearson Avenue storefront known for its wings, Philly cheesesteaks, and $10 specials. The popular food truck turned sit-down spot is closing its storefront.

According to Bham Now, the West End location at 1515 Pearson Ave SW opened in November 2022 and quickly became a neighborhood staple, serving up loaded fries, wings, Philly cheesesteaks, and its beloved Soul Food Sundays alongside affordable $10 specials. The West End location is closing.

From Demopolis Food Truck to West End Storefront

A-Train Station's roots stretch back to 2017, when the concept began in co-founder Anthony Harris's hometown of Demopolis, Alabama. Harris later connected with Careese Agee and Theodore “TJ” Essex, and the partners focused on the Birmingham area in 2020, according to About Town Magazine. The trio built momentum on the strength of that early food truck success, eventually using it as a springboard toward a permanent storefront.

When the West End location was first announced, co-owner Careese Agee explained that the Pearson Avenue site was chosen specifically to bring fresh, quality food to a neighborhood officially designated as a food desert, the outlet's report notes.

A Mural, a Menu Expansion, and a Nowie Award

The Pearson Avenue building's exterior was instantly recognizable thanks to a custom mural by Birmingham artist Dewon Moton, depicting a train on tracks alongside Arlington House.

That growth followed a breakout year for the brand: Bham Now readers voted A-Train Station the Best Food Truck in Birmingham in 2022, recognition that helped build momentum heading into the West End storefront's opening.

Business Continues in Alabaster and On Wheels

Despite the West End closure, A-Train Station isn't disappearing from the Birmingham food scene. Customers can still get A-Train Station food from its truck.

Patrons can also find a physical A-Train Station presence in Shelby County, where the company partnered with Cajun restaurant Nawlins Style Po'boys in February 2026 to open a joint storefront at 1207 1st St N in Alabaster, as reported by Bham Now. That partnership blends A-Train's signature wings and Soul Food Sundays with Nawlins Style's Cajun po'boy dishes under one roof.

For now, A-Train Station is closing a dining spot that opened in 2022, even as its broader operation, spanning a food truck and its Alabaster storefront, keeps serving customers across Greater Birmingham.
