A new Woodland Park business is inviting guests to put on a jumpsuit, grab a sledgehammer and destroy printers, glassware and even a car windshield. iSMASH will celebrate the grand opening of its first New Jersey location on Saturday, October 24, at 1630 Route 46, with smash rooms, splatter paint and axe throwing.
iSMASH has a Woodland Park location. Beyond the smash rooms that serve as its main draw, the location offers splatter paint, axe throwing, sports simulators and a digital immersive game called Floor Frenzy, as reported by NJ.com. The outlet's report, credited to the NJ.com Express Desk with Linda O'Brien, notes the publication uses AI tools to help produce some content, with staff reviewing and editing the result.
What Happens Inside a Smash Room
iSMASH describes its core attraction plainly: “A smash room is a safe, supervised space where you put on protective gear and smash things,” the company says, per the same NJ.com account. Sessions run 20 to 50 minutes and require no prior experience, with guests picking a bat, crowbar, pipe, mallet or sledgehammer to break glassware, printers and windshields.
Every guest must wear protective equipment, including a jumpsuit, along with closed-toe shoes and long sleeves and pants, per iSMASH's listed requirements. All guests sign waivers, and anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian's signature. Once the smashing stops, staff take over the mess. “You smash, we sweep,” the company says, describing its cleanup process this way after each session.
Splatter Paint, Axe Throwing and More Under One Roof
Smashing isn't the only option at the Woodland Park spot. Splatter paint sessions, open to participants ages 3 and older, let guests use squirt bottles and brushes to apply water-soluble paint onto canvases inside a blacklight-lit space, according to NJ.com's reporting. The venue also runs axe throwing and sports simulators built for virtual football, baseball and golf.
Individual session prices start at $35 per person, and iSMASH offers memberships, gift cards and packages built for birthday parties and corporate events, the outlet reports. Reservations are recommended for weekends and holidays, though walk-ins are accepted based on availability.
Opening Weekend Discount and What Comes Next
To mark the launch, iSMASH is offering 50% off any activity during opening weekend only, Saturday and Sunday, using the code GRAND50 at checkout, according to the company's site. The earlier timeline had been murky: back in August, NorthJersey.com reported only that a rage room was looking to open in Woodland Park in September, framing the concept around the idea of taking stress and anger management “into your own hands.”
Woodland Park won't be iSMASH's only New Jersey address for long. The company has another location coming to 1701 Route 22 in Watchung, inside the Blue Star Shopping Center, according to NJ.com. Property listing site Traded.co reports the leased space there encompasses 7,236 square feet with an asking rent of $30 per square foot on a long-term lease, while RE-NJ.com puts the same venue at 7,234 square feet and describes it as designed for individuals, group outings and corporate team-building events.
iSMASH's Growing Footprint
Trade outlet Amusements & Attractions reports the Woodland Park venue marks iSMASH's first New Jersey location and its 23rd overall, with another 40 sites reportedly in the pipeline. The same outlet also reports on iSMASH's new location and attractions.
