A 20-year-old Grand Rapids man is in critical but stable condition after a shooting late Monday night on Fox Run Drive SW near Byron Center Avenue SW in Wyoming. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and as of Tuesday, no arrests had been made in the case.
Investigators Began Treating the Victim
According to MLive, Wyoming police responded to an address in the 2400 block of Fox Run Drive SW at about 11:30 p.m. late Monday, Oct. 26. As reported by WWMT, arriving investigators began giving the 20-year-old medical care until medics arrived, before he was taken to a hospital, where he remained in critical but stable condition.
The station notes the shooting happened on Fox Run Road SW near Byron Center Avenue SW, and that as of Tuesday, no arrests had been made while Wyoming police detectives and the department's Forensic Science Unit continued working the investigation.
A Second, Unrelated Shooting the Same Night
Police told the station that this shooting is separate from another that happened earlier Monday near 44th Street SW and Byron Center Avenue, where shots were fired but no one was struck. Investigators have not linked the two incidents.
The Fox Run Drive shooting is one of several recent incidents authorities in the area have been investigating. In a separate case reported by ARC West Michigan, officers found a 33-year-old Grand Rapids man who had been shot near South Division Avenue and southwest Coolidge Street after 1 a.m. Sunday; he was hospitalized in stable condition. Another case covered by Fox 17 described a 27-year-old man who suffered gunshot wounds near 50th Street SW and South Division Avenue and later died at a hospital; no arrests have been made in that case either. Authorities are investigating all three incidents.
