The outlet reports that the menu covers pizza, pasta and steaks, calling it a spot where diners can get it all under one roof. The new restaurant is taking over the space formerly occupied by Montesini Pizzeria, which was damaged by a fire more than two years before the October 2026 reports, as 97.3 ESPN also noted in its coverage of the opening.
A Storefront Scarred by a 2024 Kitchen Fire
That fire struck on July 14, 2024, and damaged both Montesini Pizzeria and Pasta and its neighbor, Swirl'in Ice Cream and Cereal Bar, according to the Courier Post. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the blaze remained under investigation at the time. Swirl'in has since bounced back; the ice cream shop reopened in March 2025, per the Courier Post's earlier reporting on the fire's aftermath.
Swirl'in Ice Cream & Cereal Bar sits right next door to Zio's new location, and the two businesses are owned by the same person, the nj1015.com report notes. Swirl'in has used its comeback to expand its lineup, rolling out new treats including the Oreo Madness Ice Cream Sandwich, the Banana Pudding Ice Cream Special and a Strawberry Drizzled Cheesecake flavor after its reopening, according to eastside-online.org. The shop later added sundaes, milkshakes and Biscoff Ice Cream to the menu as well, the same outlet reports.
Zio's Is Staffing Up Before the Soft Launch
Ahead of the opening, Zio's is building out its team. The restaurant is currently looking for pizza cooks, line cooks and cashiers to join the kitchen and front-of-house staff, per the nj1015.com report. With the soft opening just days away, the hiring push comes as Zio's prepares to open in the fire-damaged Evesham storefront, bringing pizza, pasta and steaks to neighbors.
